IDW Publishing, best known from owning the current licence for Transformers comics as well as running Trek comics, will delve into politics with an October release.

Currently scheduled for an October 8 release, are a pair of biographical comics on John McCain and Barack Obama. IDW is well known for not carrying super-hero titles and these books will be no different. The books are reported to focus on the facts of the candidates lives and will feature covers by J. Scott Campbell.

For those of you hoping for Campbell’s covers to be as babe-heavy as his Gen13 and Danger Girl covers, no such luck … Unless you’re into politico sex-appeal I guess.

Likewise, if you’re looking for an ultimate showdown between Obama and McCain, well, you’ll just have to wait for November.
