Hulk’s hick descendants, pretty much, run a big chunk of the country and Wolvie is in hock to them. So he sets off on a cross country job with the now blind Hawkeye to try and earn the money to save his pig farm. You read that right, “his pig farm.”

It’s not one of the greatest Wolvie tales ever told, but it’s worth the price of admission. This book finds Logan on the trail of fox hunters in Louisiana, except that the leader of the expedition has other plans.

Issue one doesn’t let you in on much of the secrets, but it surely sets the hook. Check out these first few pages that showcase America’s first attempt at a Cap type character in the Ultimate Universe. Really a great read.

While Marvel Comics is putting out some solid comics and I’m a huge fan of Hercules, this issue has some truly jaw-dropping moments. Among the “What the hell?” moments is the unveiling of Ultimate Alpha Flight. But take a look at the roster and you’ll have a nice little gasp in there as well.

Logan #2 feels like the title character …April 3rd, 2008, 8:52 am by Shawn MunguiaShort, quick, but with a helluva punch.
There are a couple of good plot points in the book but it doesn’t have a whole lot of substance to it. What is there is really solid work, but where the last issue felt like the passage of a few hours, this felt like maybe 15 min. passed from word one to the end. Again we’re just given a glimpse of the big baddie in present time before rushing off into the flashback. Not a bad way of telling a story, but there isn’t a whole lot making us care about the current danger yet. The danger of the past has some nice reveals and some of the imagery is downright creepy though. That said, I will repeat my earlier sentiment, I’ll read the next chapter the moment it’s in my hands. Also, the series is being put out, as a variant, entirely in black and white. The first issue I think needed the color a little more than this one. Issue 2, I like the black and white edition more.
