Wolverine #66 (preview)

June 16th, 2008, 9:06 pm by Shawn Munguia

The line that many have used to sell this Marvel Comics tale is “like Unforgiven starring Wolverine.” All the heroes have fallen and Wolvie is about the only one left alive. Hulk’s hick descendants, pretty much, run a big chunk of the country and Wolvie is in hock to them. So he sets off on a cross country job with the now blind Hawkeye to try and earn the money to save his pig farm. You read that right, “his pig farm.”

Wolverine: Dangerous Games preview

June 2nd, 2008, 5:16 pm by Shawn Munguia

This one-shot is pretty fun and a pretty good Wolverine story from Marvel Comics. It’s not one of the greatest Wolvie tales ever told, but it’s worth the price of admission. This book finds Logan on the trail of fox hunters in Louisiana, except that the leader of the expedition has other plans.

Marvel Comics has been pumping the Ultimate Origins series for a while now. Issue one doesn’t let you in on much of the secrets, but it surely sets the hook. Check out these first few pages that showcase America’s first attempt at a Cap type character in the Ultimate Universe. Really a great read.

Marvel Comics continues the look back in to the early days of the Wolverine/Kitty team-up. The series is an attempt to show how the gruff wild-man came to be a father figure to one of mutant-dom’s brightest stars.

Wolverine #65 preview

Issue #65 is the conclusion of the “Get Mystique” storyline in Marvel Comics‘ Wolverine. For those who’ve been waiting for a knock-down-drag-out between Wolvie and a neekid Mystique, this’ll fit the bill.
